What a fiasco this was. I never asked anyone what type of plane
I should get to learn to fly and this is what I bought. I thought that
I had all the experience I needed with my sailplanes. I spent weeks
building this plane, making it perfect. I installed main gear and tail
wheel retracts, and lights in the wing tips. I bought a new
transmitter, receiver, servos and a Saito FA-91 engine especially for this
plane. I took it across town to a rarely used street. I fired up
the engine, pointed it down the street and let her rip. It took off,
rolled over and disappeared behind some trees. We actually found it
with minimal damage. I got real lucky, this time. After the
repairs were made, I proved that I didn't learn my lesson and we returned to
the same street. I took off, tried to fly, and crashed almost
immediately. This time it wasn't worth repairing.
