Heli-Max Axe CP

10/09/07 - Ordered from Tower
My boss's boss at work has an Axe CP (red) and it looks like a decent heli.  It's not in the same league as the Shogun or a T-Rex, but it looks like fun for indoor flying.  I ordered one today (blue).

10/11/07 - Arrived
Today the heli arrived.  I put it on the charger that it comes with and it took over an hour for the first charge.  No flights today

10/12/07 - First flight
Lucas and I took the heli to the back yard and flew on the deck.  Seemed to hover OK.  It fluctuates elevation quite a bit with the training gear installed.

10/13/07 - Another flight
Flew at work today in the Engineering lab.  Everything was going well until I got too close to the window blinds.  Only damage is one blade grip.

I ordered several parts as I anticipate crashing a few more times :)  I ordered two sets of blade grips (4 in total) a new boom and some replacement blades.

10/15/07 - Parts arrived
I swapped out the blade grip without a problem.  No test flight today.

01/17/08 - Update
Over the past couple months I flew the Axe at work a few times.  I broke another blade grip at one point and replaced it.  I also purchased som carbon fiber blades, but they weren't specifically for the Axe CP.  They are fatter than the stock blade grips allow.  I'm debating on how to handle it.  I'm considering purchasing the metal blade grips and widening them out a bit.  Currently the heli is in flyable condition, on a shelf.  I have yet to really fly it outside of the engineering lab where the ceiling is too low for the idle up switch.
